Michel Djombo: a committed actor for industrialization and private sector development in the Republic of Congo

Appointed by Presidential Decree No. 2026-6176 of April 24, 2026, Mr. Michel Djombo is the current Minister of Industrial Development, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), and Private Sector Promotion of the Republic of Congo. An entrepreneur, former president of the Congolese employers' association, and a committed player in economic development, he embodies a new generation of leaders focused on industrialization, investment, and the country's economic transformation.

In 2022, he was elected president of UNICONGO, the main employers' organization in Congo, where he advocates for economic diversification, improvement of the business climate, and private sector development.

The new minister aligns his actions with the dynamic set by the Head of State, Denis Sassou N'GUESSO, aimed at accelerating economic development. For him, this ambition relies on integrated industrialization, where Special Economic Zones must play a catalytic role in production, innovation, and attractiveness.

Among the priorities announced upon his taking office are strengthening local industrial sectors, improving the business climate, fostering closer ties between the administration and the private sector, and energizing public-private dialogue. The stated goal is to produce more locally, create greater added value, and generate sustainable jobs.

Thanks to his private sector experience and results-driven vision, Michel Djombo aims to make the industrial sector an engine of sustainable growth and modernization for the country.
