Brazzaville
On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Ms. Annick Patricia MONGO, Director General of the Investment Promotion Agency (API) received the Economic Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Congo for a working session.
The two officials mainly discussed issues of economic and commercial cooperation between Congo and China, particularly regarding preparations for negotiations on the 04 modules (trade, investment, inclusive development, and digital economy) stemming from a framework partnership agreement signed between the two countries during the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held in China in September 2024.
This summit, organized alternately between China and African countries since 2000, represents a key moment for bilateral relations between the two blocs, particularly in the economic and commercial fields.
"Through FOCAC, China intends to establish a mechanism aimed at promoting the export of specialized Congolese products, particularly in the agricultural and agri-food sectors, to China, which represents a vast market," declared the Chinese diplomat.

The Chinese Diplomat also requested the participation of the Investment Promotion Agency (API) in the 4th edition of the Sino-African Economic and Trade Exhibition, which will be held in June 2025 in China's Changsha province. This exhibition will also address the economic and commercial initiatives defined during the Sino-African summit in Beijing held in 2024 and will also consider supporting the development of the China-Africa pilot zone.
